Peyton Manning helped bring the Denver Broncos to the AFC Championship game with the team’s win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, but that’s not all he won at; with a few simple words – Omaha and Bud Light – Manning created a social media wave of tweets and responses.
Anyone who watched the game live could hear Manning’s audible calls of “Omaha! Omaha!” throughout the game. Omaha Steaks responded in kind with this amazing tweet, which has been retweeted over 2,000 times since this morning.
Woke up to 652 missed calls from #PeytonManning. #OmahaOmaha

The city of Omaha, Nebraska also thanked Manning for his 44 shout-outs during the game with this fun tweet:
We certainly appreciate all the love from #PeytonManning 🙂 #OmahaOmaha

Bud Light also had another winning moment: in the post-game press conference, Manning said, “what’s weighing on my mind is how soon I can get a Bud Light in my mouth.” Bud Light’s digital agency AKQA quickly jumped on this with a Vine video that has gone viral – gaining over 500,000 impressions and over 5,000 retweets since last night.
Proud to be Peyton’s refreshment coordinator. #18WantsBudLight https://t.co/K714vWWX9w

Was it pre-meditated or a stroke of marketing luck? Call it what you like – but kudos to Omaha Steaks, the city of Omaha, and Bud Light.
